North West Timber Treatments currently have an opening for an HGV class 2 multi drop delivery driver. The job entails delivering timber and building materials to both building sites and residential addresses. Previous experience within a builder merchant would be advantageous although full on the job training would be given to the successful candidates.

  • There are 7 retail depots in the group, covering an array of manufacturing capabilities in timber treatment, sawmilling, fence panel production and joinery.

The role offers a competitive salary and overtime. As a delivery driver you would be working as part of a team and would report to the Branch Manager. Your key respon­­sibi­­lities would include assisting the safe loading of the vehicle, delivery of product to both domestic and trade customers.­

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes, work well as part of a team as well as under your own initiative, motivated, energetic, well presented with a positive and polite manner.

Respon­­sibi­­lities will include:

  • You would be delivering NWTT orders to both Trade & general public
  • Ensure to develop and maintain positive customer relationships, delivering exceptional customer service
  • To comply with driving hours and working time directives
  • To ensure driving ability adheres to the safety of others and oneself on the road, ensuring legal compliance at all times
  • Ensure a professional image of the company and oneself is presented at all times adhering to the company uniform policy
  • Ensuring all paperwork is correctly signed, properly distributed and all administration is accurate
  • Ensure daily vehicle checks are actioned to support Health and Safety criteria
  • Ensure vehicles is emptied and cleaned each day ready for reloading
  • Oversee safe loading and unloading of goods
  • Responsible for security of loads
  • To lead and give example to other drivers by offering support
  • Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements
  • Willingness to work increased hours during peak times
  • Flexible working patterns as shifts times may vary.

Working Requirements:

  • Monday-Friday- weekend and bank holiday subject to business demand
  • Varied start times with expectation to work different routes and plans week to week- Core hours between 7.30am to 5pm
  • Requirements of Class 2 Driver:
  • Have a digitacho card
  • Hold a CPC qualification card
  • Hiab License (preferred)

Benefits:

  • Pay: £30,000 - £32,000 per year, 47.5 hours a week, with an overtime rate applied thereafter.

Experience:

  • HGV Class 2 driving: 2 years (required)

Licence/­Certification:

  • HGV Licence Class 2 (required)
