Tidy your garden this autumn
Hello Autumn!
There’s always something to be done in the garden, no matter the season. Here at NWTT we’ve compiled together a checklist of the basics you should do to be certain that your garden is prepared for the colder weather approaching in the coming autumn and winter months.
Give your decking and walkways a sweep
Fallen leaves and twigs can ruin the look and condition of your garden, by keeping on top of this along with the occasional pressure wash, your garden can always be ready to welcome guests, no matter the weather. We’re hoping for some September sunshine!
Look after your lawn
Make sure that your lawn is being cared for all year round. If your lawn is looking less than happy, apply lawn feed to give it a new lease of life. Aerating your lawn will help it to absorb all the nutrients it needs and will help with drainage. Alternatively, if you prefer a lower maintenance option, artificial grass is a great choice, and we have a range to choose from here at North West Timber Treatments.
Check for and make any repairs
By regularly checking the fencing, decking and outbuildings in your garden you avoid the risk of any potentially dangerous or serious repairs needing to be made.
Ensuring that your fencing is maintained is vital when it comes to keeping the perimeters of your garden secure and in excellent condition, do this by keeping an eye out for any splitting, rotting or loose panels. Staining or painting your fence is also a good way of protecting it against the cold, harsh weather.
Regularly clean up
Every few weeks, take a walk around your garden and tidy up pieces of rubbish, leaves, branches and any pet waste. Keeping on top of the garden chores makes it much easier come spring when you’re planning your 2024 garden space!
