Our successful Ashton in Makerfield branch is currently looking for a Mill Operative.
In this role you will work as part of our external Mill based team, providing an integral part of the operation on a daily basis.
Duties are varied which include:
- Operate and maintain a variety of woodworking machines including saws, moulders, planers, and CNC routers.
- Measure, cut, shape, and machine timber components with precision and attention to detail.
- Monitor equipment for wear and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Work in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Assist with loading/unloading materials and organizing the Mill.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a machinist in a woodworking or timber mill environment.
- Strong knowledge of wood types, machining techniques, and tool use.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Forklift license or CNC experience (desirable but not essential).
